RECONNECTIONS Workshops at Start2stop
A Day Workshop For Couples, When One is Leaving Treatment
You have found a solid foundation in recovery, and the addiction crisis at home is over. There are many bridges to mend. Distance, distrust, and confusion persist in your relationship. Early recovery is fragile, and so are relationships. Partners of addicts can feel unsupported and left out from busy recovery timetables. You are seeking a settled home life to complement your recovery. Perhaps you carry shame and regret and are finding it hard to reassure your partner that the changes you have made will last.
"I'm deeply passionate about our partnership with Start2Stop, having worked there for many years prior to creating Experience Connection. Our workshops empower couples to rebuild their relationships, it is our belief that the work of recovery integration, for the individual, is not yet complete until homelife is settled too."

Our Partnership
Our collaboration with Start2Stop is built on a shared commitment to supporting individuals and couples through the challenges of recovery. By combining our expertise in attachment-focused therapy with Start2Stop's comprehensive recovery programmes, we create a holistic approach that addresses both individual and relational healing.
How will a workshop help?
At Experience Connection, we understand the unique challenges faced by couples navigating recovery. Our workshops are designed to provide a safe, supportive environment where couples can work through past hurts and build stronger, healthier relationships. With expert facilitation and a focus on attachment theory, we empower couples to reconnect and thrive.
Our Focus
Returning to Connection - Remembering how things were before addiction overtook. Learning how to re-establish and hold onto a quality of closeness that got lost.
A Place to Manage Dilemmas, with Support - Completion of treatment can be full of such mixed emotions at home. It can be a difficult landscape to navigate when feelings of relief and pride are equally mixed with fears about relapse, guilt and sometimes even anger about what has happened. All of these emotions are valid and it is also understandable you are not sure how to manage them. We create gentle, clear, very practical blueprints for you to take with you, of how to manage this as recovery establishes.
Healing past hurts - We obviously appreciate a one day workshop will not make better all that has happened, but it can be a start. We lay a good foundation for the pathways of healing and our couples leave with a clearer mutual understanding of how the next steps can be taken together.
Inclusion - Bringing you both onto the same page- Often the busy schedule of recovery can feel like a similar absence to the one felt active addiction. Our Workshops help couples unite on common goals, where both needs are considered and valued. We support in re-establishing a sense of team at home.
